Tapered Bezel Template Generator
Generate a printable template for a tapered bezel (cone setting) sized to your stone. Enter the stone diameter at the girdle, choose a wall angle, and get an unwrapped pattern you can print, cut, form, and solder.
A tapered bezel (also called a collet or cone setting) holds a faceted stone by wrapping a truncated cone of metal around it. The seat for the stone is cut with a bur after forming.
22ga (0.6mm) is typical for tapered bezels.
17° and 28° match standard bezel blocks.
Must be tall enough for the culet to sit fully inside the bezel.

When printing the PDF, set scale to 100% (not “Scale to Fit”).
PDF is the easiest way to print at exact 1:1 scale. SVG is ideal for editing in Affinity (free) or Inkscape before printing. Always verify the 10mm scale mark on the printout.

Tips
- Print at 100% scale (no fit-to-page) and verify with the 10mm reference mark before cutting metal.
- Use 22 gauge (0.6mm) or slightly heavier sheet — the bezel needs to hold its shape after forming.
- Always saw on the outside of the printed line — this leaves extra metal for filing the edges smooth without making the bezel undersized.
- Make sure the bezel height is tall enough that the culet sits fully inside — an exposed culet can chip or scratch the wearer's skin.
- Anneal the metal before forming — work-hardened sheet will crack at the bends.
